Who am I
Some info about me:
My name is Sander Cornelis Hamel, born on 4 Juli 1982 in Haarlem, The Netherlands. I graduated from the ROC Flevoland on 2002 (Systeembeheer MKB Nivo 4) and started working at E-Sound
At E-Sound I learned a lot about IT and became specialist in Unix / Linux systems. We had some big Sun Servers and I learned a lot about Solaris. I still learn a lot almost every day which is a good thing. I got an offer from my boss to go to indonesia with him for a week or so. This because we had to finish one of our products which was being programmed at Senisvara in Indonesia.
I enjoyed Indonesia my stay in Indonesia and went back a view times on holiday. I’ve met a girl named Arum (currently my wife) and decided I wanted to life in Indonesia. After discussing it with my boss he made me an offer to work for Senisvara in Indonesia.
On 30 October 2004 I left holland and went to Indonesia where I first worked for Senisvara as the General Manager. Senisvara was an Indonesian company owned by the brother of my former boss Evert which did a lot of work (Mainly php/mysql programming and artwork design) for E-Sound. After some friction between both parties we decided to split with senisvara and therefor I helped starting up a new company CV. Internet Computer Indonesie. During this process I learned a lot about the possiblities and laws in Indonesia. I started learning a little bit about java programming, created an Automatic Invoice System and got an article on sun.com. After that I’ve wrote a short manual about using lowagi itext from inside studio creator to generate pdf’s. The manual can be found on my companies website.
I enjoyed working as a GM for this company but decided after almost 2 years of services to go back to Holland.
I got married with Arum on 21 September inside a Catholic church in Java and went back to holland alone short after. Arum arrived 1 month later in Holland on a Schengen visa. It is difficult to get a visa in Holland and I found a more easy way to do this using the belgium route.
First I looked for a job and had a view job interviews. My main function was Unix Administrator altough I also did a little bit of Programming (JSF, Ruby) and manage some Unix Administrators in Indonesia (Mainly by using chat tools and e-mail for communication, and wikipedia for documentation).
After working there for about a year I decided to leave the company. I found a new job at Comsys where I started on the 1st of June 2008 as a service engineer. Comsys is mainly selling IVR systems and ringback tones to both small companies and large telco’s. All running on Solaris, Sun servers and Sun storedge so it seems to be a perfect match to my passion and qualities altough I am always open to exciting jobs inside APAC area ![]()
